March 13 2016 – 3 years after Mass
Outbreak – Zombie Outbreak Response Team 335 ZDC
So I'm sitting under a bridge hiding
from the local law enforcement which isn't too hard mind you
considering since the massive outbreak most local police almost never
leave their heavily armored vehicles. No need to really. Zombies
don't hide and the turret gunner can kill them or they can opt for
the always fun sport of running them over. It's ten extra points if
the head pops.
Anyway, I was doing some research at
the library on Necrotizing Fasciitis and found out it's a serious
bacterial infection that spreads rapidly and destroys the body's soft
tissue. Commonly called a "flesh-eating infection" by the
media, and this very rare disease can be caused by more than one type
of bacteria.
Oh, I haven't mentioned the E. coli out
breaks all over the world. You should remember them. They happened a
lot in the '00's. Strange that this whole thing looks to be a whole
lot of coincidences. I don't believe in coincidences.
I'm having a hard time putting this
together. So, E. coli is spreading at an exponential rate. This is
nothing new really but what is causing it to start Necrotizing
Fasciitis. Then you throw the whole Bath Salts thing in and it gets
really confusing. What the hell is going on here.
Well unfortunately that is all I could
find out because while I was studying I noticed someone dressed in a
black suit watching me. Just a bit out of place in a ruined city
slum. You would think with all the training these people get they
would be better at stalking. I mean, car companies have huge million
dollar focus groups just to name a car based on peoples interests and
emotions but these guys can't figure out how to dress for the
occasion.
I tried to slip out the back but he cut
me off in a hallway where I promptly broke his nose with my elbow
before my knee met his sternum. Surprisingly, library staff thought
this was a bit loud and maybe a bit disturbing so they thought the
police should probably get involved.
And here I sit, hiding and thanking the
gods that whoever is in charge doesn't want to make a big scene and
are just letting the locals handle it. That also gives me more time
to learn more about what's going on. I think I'll head to the nearest
CDC building and say “Hi!” in my special way. But first I need to
suit up and load up. Back to my barracks.
